PMAMM Names Welch Its AE

The Property Management Association of Mid-Michigan (PMAMM) is pleased to announce that Mary Welch has accepted a new role with the association as Association Executive.

Formerly a property manager for Summit Property Management in East Lansing East Lansing, city (1990 pop. 50,677), Ingham co., S central Mich., a suburb of Lansing, on the Red Cedar River; inc. 1907. The city was first known as College Park, but was renamed when it was incorporated. , Mich., Welch also served as PMAMM secretary for one year before holding the title of president for a year and a half. Welch said she is happy to have the flexibility to devote more time and enthusiasm to the association.

Prior to her new position, Welch volunteered her time to the association in addition to working full-time. She said she is very excited about her new challenge because it will provide more time and energy to focus on member needs. She said she looks forward to growing the PMAMM membership, as well as increasing its member unit count.

PMAMM recently held a general membership meeting where it highlighted the benefits and services that NAA provides its affiliates, including legislative advocacy, education and the NAA PAC.

In the coming months, PMAMM plans to offer more NAA educational programs, as well as elicit prospective membership--in the Lansing area--to membership meetings, trade shows, seminars, etc.

"Strength is in numbers in numbered parts; as, a book published in numbers.

Each year, the trade show committee works very hard to make this important event one that will provide its members with ample opportunity to learn, network and advertise their businesses. Without exception, it has grown and improved every year.

Another goal of PMAMM is to get maintenance professionals more involved in the association. "Maintenance is one of the most important aspects of the multifamily industry. PMAMM is planning to offer the NAA Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT CAMT Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician

Dye is working diligently to rouse interest in the CAMT course among those in the Lansing area.

PMAMM also is revamping its Web site www.PMAMM.com. Currently, members can obtain general membership information about the association, but plans are in place to offer members access to the latest information and resources in the multifamily industry.

"This seminar was very helpful to our members as well as the guests that attended," said Cochran.

"The meeting was well attended. We had 50 confirmed RSVPs and were pleasantly surprised by the crowd of 74 people who attended," said NWAA President Mark "Doc" Lindsay.

The seminar was a hot topic for our members and guests and we were able to recruit new members as well as provide copies of the NAA Mold, and Operations Training Video, CD, and other informational resources to our members.

Thanks to the great resources from NAA, NWAA was able to put on a high-quality seminar that was very well received. With the insight and information provided by NAA, NWAA will be able to provide topnotch programs and services to its members as well as the residents in northwest Arkansas.

NWAA covers the northwest 1-540 corridor areas and is expecting to bring in the surrounding areas of Eureka Springs, Siloam Springs, Fort Smith and Harrison. NWAA plans to unveil the NAA Rental Owners Course (ROC) this fall, as well as other professional designation courses.

One goal of the NWAA board of directors is to recruit more volunteers to serve on committees and get involved with association activities.

According to Lindsay, NWAA has just gotten started. "Even though we've only been in existence for a little more than eight months, our membership growth initiative has enabled us to reach out to the independent owners in our area with information resources (1) The data and information assets of an organization, department or unit.
