Apacer Will Unveil DDR, Its New Memory Technology, iStorage And New Embedded Flash Storage At COMDEX; Apacer Will be Showcasing Its New Memory Solutions At Booth No. L4919.

Business Editors/High-tech Writers

COMDEX The former, premier computer trade show in the U.S. Although it grew into an end user event, it was originally created for dealers and distributors (it was the COMputer Dealers EXposition).  Fall 2000 - Booth No. L4919

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 13, 2000

Apacer (www.apacer.com), a professional memory module provider, will be displaying its full range of memory systems at Fall COMDEX and introducing all new memory solutions, iStorage technology and embedded flash storage. Apacer will unveil new memory technology DDR (Double Data Rate) Refers to an SDRAM memory chip that increases performance by doubling the effective data rate of the frontside bus. For more details, see SDRAM.

VCM Value Chain Management
VCM Voice-Coil Motor
VCM Vehicle Control Module

(Virtual Channel Memory) module, and SORIMM, all of which were designed to enhance server, notebook, and desktop memory module solutions. The new iStorage technology includes the 512GB CompactFlash Card, 1GB IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  Microdrive and the 64MB MultiMedia Card. The new embedded flash storage presented in the booth will be ATA-DISK CHIP and ATA-DISK module. This technology licensed from SST SST: see airplane.  (Silicon Storage Technology, Inc In the late 1980s, Bing Yeh and his cofounder assembled a small team of engineers in a rented office on Apollo Way in Sunnyvale, Calif., to develop a new breed of nonvolatile memory technology—SuperFlash—for code or data storage in electronic systems and embedded memory for .) is the second source of this type of embedded mass storage to be presented to the public.

"We are very excited to display our new memory solutions at COMDEX 2000 because this event is the technology showcase of the year," said Lynn Hsu, Program Manager of Apacer's American Marketing Operations. "With this new era, advanced technologies are in constant demand to fulfill the consumers needs, and what better place than COMDEX to bring our memory solutions to the customers."

Apacer will be presenting to the public for the first time a live demo of DDR with ALi (Acer Laboratories Inc.) in the Apacer booth. Apacer joined forces with Acer Laboratories Inc. in July 2000 to develop the latest mainstream memory technology and will now be showing the power of DDR to the public at COMDEX. The world's leading integrated circuit integrated circuit (IC), electronic circuit built on a semiconductor substrate, usually one of single-crystal silicon. The circuit, often called a chip, is packaged in a hermetically sealed case or a nonhermetic plastic capsule, with leads extending from it for  solution provider, ALi brought the first complete DDR chipset solution to the market. By working closely with ALi, Apacer ensures DDR provides a memory solution that is highly viable and easily manufactured. At COMDEX, the public can witness its remarkable ability to double the speed of its data transfer rate, and see how DDR outperforms its predecessors by a large margin.

Apacer will also have a VCM expert from NEC (NEC Corporation, Tokyo, www.nec.com, www.necus.com) An electronics conglomerate known in the U.S. for its monitors. In Japan, it had the lion's share of the PC market until the late 1990s (see PC 98).

NEC was founded in Tokyo in 1899 as Nippon Electric Company, Ltd.
