The new version now supports CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) A software-based interface from the Object Management Group (OMG) that allows software modules (objects) to communicate with each other no matter where they are located on a private network or the global , increases application performance and includes several new feature updates to the core toolset.

ObjectAda for HP supports X/Motif programming with AdaMOTIF and is being integrated with ORBexpress(TM), a CORBA-based product for high performance, real-time and embedded applications offered by Objective Interface Systems.

"ORBexpress is a highly efficient implementation of CORBA. We are happy to work with Aonix to extend ObjectAda's capability into distributed application An application made up of distinct components running in separate runtime environments, usually on different platforms connected via a network. Typical distributed applications  computing," said Jamie Breneman, ORBexpress marketing manager, Objective Interface Systems. "Our relationship with Aonix provides ObjectAda users the flexibility to use CORBA for their distributed applications."

ObjectAda for HP is available in two productivity packages: CorePack and ProjectPack. The CorePack supports professional UNIX development with a comprehensive toolset that includes the browser, editor, debugger, compiler, runtime, and integration with POSIX (Portable Operating System Interface for UNIX) An IEEE 1003.1 standard that defines the language interface between application programs and the Unix operating system. , UNIX CDE (1) (Computer Desktop Encyclopedia) What you are reading at this very moment. "As a component of Aonix's Lifecycle Solutions, ObjectAda fully supports object-oriented programming object-oriented programming, a modular approach to computer program (software) design. Each module, or object, combines data and procedures (sequences of instructions) that act on the data; in traditional, or procedural, programming the data are separated from the  and broad-based UNIX application development," said Joe Colloca, product marketing manager at Aonix.
