Aon risk providing brokerage for freedom tower in NYC.Aon Risk Services Inc. has been made insurance broker for the construction of the Freedom Tower, the 1,176-foot-tall building that will replace the World Trade Center. Aon said it would arrange for construction insurance, as well as builder's risk, general and excess liability, and workers' compensation, for the project. The insurance and reinsurance brokerage division of Chicago-based Aon Corp., Aon Risk Services, was appointed broker by World Trade Center Properties LLC, an affiliate of Silverstein Properties Inc. "We are delighted to be working with the Silverstein team on a project that is so important to the people of New York and the Lower Manhattan business community," Patrick G. Ryan, Aon's chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement. Groundbreaking for the project took place at a ceremony on July 4, 2004. Construction is expected to be completed in 2009, Silverstein Properties said. |
