Aon Provides Update to Employees and Families.Business Editors CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--September 17, 2001 To Aon's Colleagues, Families, and Friends: Our Aon family was touched all too dramatically by last week's events at the World Trade Center. We join the nation and the world in offering our prayers for the thousands of people injured or lost, and for the thousands more who are working tirelessly to aid them. Aon occupied floors 92 and 98-105 of Two World Trade Center. We have determined that approximately 1,350 of our employees were potentially at risk during Tuesday's tragedy. This includes approximately 1,100 employees who were based in the Two World Trade Center offices and approximately 250 employees who were either traveling to New York City New York City: see New York, city. New York City City (pop., 2000: 8,008,278), southeastern New York, at the mouth of the Hudson River. Since Tuesday, our family has been working around the clock to provide support for employees and families who were directly affected, at our 24-hour call center, on the ground in the New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of area, and in many other locations around the world. We have been able to help many families travel to the New York area already, and we continue to offer to provide travel assistance and reimburse travel expenses for immediate family members of employees who are critically injured, missing, or deceased. We are providing enhancements to our standard medical coverage and short-term disability policies. We are also making financial counseling available to help those affected by this tragedy manage through these very difficult times. Aon has established an Assistance Fund to provide financial help to employees and family members affected by Tuesday's events. We are thankful for the safety of so many of our employees who are in New York, and are working to ensure that they receive appropriate support. In addition to providing many of the services that I have described above, Aon is reimbursing interim travel, hotel, and living expenses for those employees who cannot yet return to their homes.
