Aon Insurance leases 42,000 s/f in Stamford office tower.


Benenson Capital Partners, owner and manager of 1600 Summer Street in Stamford, announced that Aon Insurance signed a 10 year lease to occupy 42,000 s/f of the 270,000 s/f office property.

Aon Re Global, Aon Risk Management and Aon Consulting will relocate to 1600 Summer Street from One Landmark Square in Stamford and 1700 E. Putnam Ave. in Old Greenwich Old Greenwich is a neighborhood or section in the southeast corner of Greenwich in Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States.

The Old Greenwich Railroad Station serves commuters in the neighborhood.

Aon is the first new tenant to join the 1600 Summer Street roster, following the launch of a major marketing initiative to lease the entire six-story office property. The building's current sole tenant, GE Money, General Electric Co.'s consumer lending Consumer lending or consumer loans refers to any type of loan product that is not a mortgage; such as a car, boat, manufactured home, home equity loan, home equity line of credit, signature loan, signature line of credit, recreational vehicle, or Certificate of Deposit loans.  division, is in the process of relocating. Aon will move into the building this fall.

Currently, 1600 Summer Street is undergoing major multi-million dollar interior and exterior capital improvements.

The redevelopment marks the first total makeover for the property since it was developed by Benenson in 1980. The renovations will take place through early 2007.

Space in the building is available for multi-tenant use or as a headquarters location for users with requirements from 2,000 to more than 200,000 s/f. Pre-built units starting at 2,000 s/f are also available. Floor plates average 45,000 s/f.
