Aon Finalizes U.S. IT Outsourcing Agreement with Computer Sciences Corporation.

) and Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE:CSC (Card Security Code) A three- or four-digit number printed on the back of credit cards for security purposes. Called "Card Verification Value" (CVV) by Visa, "Card Validation Code" (CVC) by MasterCard and "Card Identification (CID) by American Express and Discover, ) have finalized their agreement to outsource the majority of Aon's U.S. information technology (IT) infrastructure to CSC.

As Aon announced in May, the outsourcing and related consolidation of data centers and other functions are designed to produce an estimated $300 million in savings over seven years. CSC's management of this scope of service is expected to generate in excess of $600 million in revenue for CSC over the life of the agreement, which covers Aon's U.S. insurance brokerage and consulting business units. Outsourcing will begin in third quarter 2004 and the transition process will occur in phases. The financial impact to Aon will be realized over time as IT functions are transferred to new platforms and processes.

Functional areas to be outsourced include data centers, telecommunications and data networks, desktop support, related help desk services and various IT support functions.
