Aon Corporation to Relocate to Amoco Building.


CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 10, 1999--

Aon Corporation announced today that it has signed a long-term sublease sublease n. the lease of all or a portion of premises by a tenant who has leased the premises from the owner. A sublease may be prohibited by the original lease, or require written permission from the owner.  agreement to relocate its downtown corporate headquarters to the Amoco Building There are several buildings called the Amoco Building. Among them:
  • Amoco Building (Denver)
  • Amoco Building (New Orleans)
Formerly named Amoco Building
  • Aon Center (Chicago)
 in September 2001. Aon will occupy 515,000 square feet on floors three through 20 of the 2.4 million-square-foot tower. The agreement calls for renaming the building to "Aon Center The Aon Center is the name of two buildings.

  • Aon Center (Los Angeles)
," as Aon will be occupying a significant amount of space in the building.

Aon also announced that it has signed a lease for 400,000 square feet in the former Zenith headquarters building in Glenview, Ill. The move will consolidate a number of Aon's suburban offices into one facility and is also scheduled to be completed by the end of 2001.

"Relocating to these facilities not only makes good business sense in terms of operating efficiencies, but it also continues to unify Aon," said Patrick G. Ryan, chairman and chief executive officer of Aon Corporation. "They both offer enhanced access to technology and excellent training facilities, provide Aon employees with an array of conveniences, and enable efficient communication across our departments and operating units."

According to Mr. Ryan, both relocations follow Aon's thorough review of space alternatives throughout the Chicagoland area.

"As our clients' needs become more complex, our goal is to help them anticipate risks, uncover opportunities, and achieve their vision," said Mr. Ryan. "Because of the efficiencies these moves offer us, we will ultimately be in a position to serve our clients better."

The Tenant Representation business of Jones Lang LaSalle Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE: JLL) is a major real estate and money management services firm headquartered in the Aon Center in Chicago, Illinois and the only company in its industry making it into Fortune magazine's list of the 100 Best Places to Work in the U.S.  led Aon's office relocation review and advised Aon on the sublease agreement. Terms of the sublease agreement were not disclosed.
