Aon Corporation and Jauch & Hubener KGaA Join Forces.


CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--September 18, 1997--Aon Corporation (Aon) today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Jauch & Hubener KGaA, subject to regulatory approvals and other normal consents. The existing activities of Jauch & Hubener KGaA and the brokerage and consulting operations of Aon in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and certain countries in Central Europe Central Europe is the region lying between the variously and vaguely defined areas of Eastern and Western Europe. In addition, Northern, Southern and Southeastern Europe may variously delimit or overlap into Central Europe.  will be combined under a new company to be known as Aon Jauch & Hubener.

Jauch & Hubener KGaA and Aon have chosen to join up with each other because they share the same commercial philosophy. They both place particular importance on entrepreneurism in all aspects of business and on interdependence, which encourages resource sharing as part of a global teamwork for the benefit of clients.

Aon's German brokerage and consulting subsidiary, Aon GmbH, has about 450 employees and had revenues in 1996 of $47 million (DM 85 million). It already ranks no. 4 in the German market. Jauch & Hubener KGaA ranks no. 1 in Germany.
