Byline: Alison Young Features Writer

IT was the large L shaped garden which first attracted Liz Hallett to her 19th century cottage home.

And despite completely transforming the inside of her home over the past eight years, it is still in the garden where Liz is at her happiest.

"I love gardening and the garden here is really very interesting and well stocked - it's a lovely place to sit and relax. There is a greenhouse, a herb garden and both a vegetable and fruit garden."

The garden is overlooked from the conservatory, which was a new addition to the property a few years ago.

New fireplaces have been installed in keeping with the age of the property and both the flat roof and the windows have been renewed.

The house has also been completely redecorated throughout by Liz, a part-time teacher.

"It gives you a real sense of achievement to sit in a room which you have transformed yourself."

But with a young toddler son and now another baby on the way, Liz is looking to move on to somewhere with slightly more space for her growing family.
