Any ideas for cistern water use?


COUNTRYSIDE: AS transplanted city dwellers to country farm owners, my husband and I have much to learn. A current question revolves around water cisterns. What can you do with cistern cistern /cisĀ·tern/ (sisĀ“tern) a closed space serving as a reservoir for fluid, e.g., one of the enlarged spaces of the body containing lymph or other fluid.  water aside from watering the garden? Is a cement cistern better than plastic? Above ground, gravity fed, or buried with a pump? Who sells them? All information and advice are welcome.

Cisterns are often underground cement "tanks" which collect rain water from roof runoff, although they can also be stored above ground and made of plastic.
