Virtual Combat, acquired from Amritraj Entertainment, Los Angeles, will be released to U.S. video stores in January. Don Wilson's earlier video hits Red Sun Rising and Blood Fist produced powerful R.O.I. for retailers of 76% and 77%, respectively. The star has a strong following among kickboxing aficionados and action movie buffs. Coming on the heels of another HBO Premiere movie The Fighter, which will hit the stores next month, A-Pix is closing 1995 with quality action offerings that have strong niche audience appeal.

A-PIX President Robert Baruc also reported the launch of a pacesetting web site on the internet, allowing retailers and consumers to pull up four-color box art, photo stills, background on the stars and information on upcoming A-PIX titles. Virtual Combat will be the first promotion on the site at www.panix.com/"lweston/virtual_combat.shtml. "The web site enhances our marketing clout. We expect that A-Pix and the video retailers should do extremely well with Virtual Combat and Dispara, which reflect the diverse high quality niche films in our growing library," Baruc said.
