Anton Schwartz is another of the small-label recordings that Reference Recordings is publicizing, and it should prove popular among audiophiles who give it an audition by virtue of its good sound quality (not surprisingly, it happens to be HDCD-encoded) and pleasant program. Schwartz is supported on this outing by Paul Nagel on piano, John Shifflet on bass, and Jason Lewis Jason Lewis may refer to

rather than aggressively thought-provoking. Although it is music on the gentle side, it never slips into the "lite jazz" or "E-Z E-Z Engdahl-Zigangirov (bound)  listening" mode; this is good stuff that I recommend to all audiophiles with a taste for 70 minutes of pleasant jazz, well recorded. --KWN
