Antique shops on the move.

Byline: RETAIL NOTEBOOK By Joe Mosley The Register-Guard

It's become a little difficult to tell the players without a scorecard, so Roxann Emmons of the Coburg Antique Mall is happy to run through the comings and goings from the town's lineup of antique dealers antique dealer nanticuario/a

"You come into town and it looks kind of like, `Where'd everybody go?' ' Emmons says. "Everybody's here, you just have to look a little harder for them."

For starters, Emmons, her husband and two other couples opened their Coburg Antique Mall last summer at 91055 S. Harrison St. It was formerly a shop specializing in pottery.

"Our sales have been phenomenal," Emmons says. "It's been more than 10 times what we thought we'd do."

Meanwhile, Emmons' former place of business - Iron Kettle Antiques, at 91088 Willamette St. - was taken over by a new owner and became Red Door Antiques and Collectibles.

A group of houses at the corner of Delaney and Willamette streets - known as "Cottage Row" - went up for sale last year, and some are now filled. The owners of Eugene's Reflections Salon purchased one of the houses and have opened another salon, while the owners of The Depot House Espresso Cafe are moving from McKenzie Street to open a coffee and sandwich shop called The Wind-Up Toy.
