A colorless crystalline compound used as a stabilizer for plastics and in the manufacture of dyes, explosives, pesticides, and pharmaceuticals.

 antidegradant that is said to offer excellent heat and oxidation resistance to most natural and synthetic polymers. Its low volatility is said to be better than competitive antioxidants. Using Antioxidant 405 in combination with the company's Antioxidant 58 or 60 is said to provide synergy that produces outstanding heat resistance, especially in HNBR HNBR Hydrogenated Acrylonitrile-Butadiene Rubber , according to the company. Antioxidant 405 is non-blooming at normal loadings of 1 to 4 phr. Like other amine antioxidants, Antioxidant 405 will discolor dis·col·or
