Invotec announces an innovative approach to nasal packing with the release of its new PVA PVA
polyvinyl alcohol. + Nasal Sponges. These sponges incorporate a bacteriostatic agent that inhibits the growth of the most common bacteria found in the nose for up to 7 days. Compared to standard PVA nasal sponges, PVA+ helps reduce the odor associated with bacteria and makes removal of the sponges less traumatic to patients. New PVA+ is very hydrophilic hydrophilic /hy·dro·phil·ic/ (-fil´ik) readily absorbing moisture; hygroscopic; having strongly polar groups that readily interact with water.
