Anti-gun activist found stabbed to death in flat; Grandson held after killing of campaigner, 53.Byline: BY LIZA WILLIAMS Daily Post Staff A LIVERPOOL anti-gun campaigner has paid tribute to fellow activist Pat Regan-who was found stabbed to death on Sunday - saying she was "like a sister" to her. The 53-year-old, whose body was discovered in her flat at the weekend, dedicated her life to educating young people about the dangers of guns after her son, Danny, was shot dead in Haydock more than five years ago. She founded her own organisation, Mothers Against Violence in Leeds and worked with many other campaigners across the country, meeting with Government officials to discuss how to tackle the problems of guns and gang-related crime. Ms Regan's grandson was being questioned by police last night after being arrested on suspicion of murder. Last night, her friend and fellow campaigner Paula Ogunboro, from Toxteth, expressed her sadness: "We were very close, I was speaking to her three days ago and we talked about future plans. "We were like sisters. Everything she did in Leeds I was up there with her, and anything I did she was down here campaigning with me. "We did a lot of workshops together, she was a woman on a mission and had so many goals. She helped so many young people, it is such a sad loss." The women met in London six years ago at an anti-gun event, and Ms Ogunboro says they "clicked" straight away. She herself founded Liverpool charity Mothers against Murder, after her son Eugene was shot twice with a sawn-off shotgun during a row at a house party in Toxteth in November, 2003. She added: "She so wanted to find justice for Danny, that is the saddest thing. His killer has never been caught. "She was an ordinary woman who devoted herself to this cause and worked tirelessly tire·less adj. Not yielding to fatigue; untiring or indefatigable. tire less·ly adv. . I will miss her so much.
"But she has left a legacy, because of her a lot of young people will have stayed away from weapons and will have had good lives as a result." Ms Regan's grandson was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday evening, when Mrs Regan's body was discovered at her flat on Marlborough Grange, Leeds. It is believed the man was arrested earlier in the day in connection with an unrelated stabbing stab v. stabbed, stab·bing, stabs v.tr. 1. To pierce or wound with or as if with a pointed weapon. 2.
