Anti-Snore Pillow; Save Your Heart

Most anti-snore pillows promote proper sleeping position whether you sleep on your side or on your back. This keeps the airway as unrestricted as possible, which can reduce if not eliminate your snoring.

Snoring can keep you and your spouse or roommate from getting a good night's sleep. There are several products on the market to help people to stop snoring. Several of these remedies come in the form of anti-snore pillows. Typically these pillows keep the body aligned to keep the airway unrestricted and fit standard sized pillow cases. There are several different pillow styles available which means you are likely to find one the works for you.

The most prevalent cause of snoring is a misalignment of the head, neck and spine which restricts the airways. The air passing through the restricted airway causes the tissues of the throat to vibrate which is where the sound we call snoring comes from. Most anti-snore pillows promote proper sleeping position whether you sleep on your side or on your back. This keeps the airway as unrestricted as possible, which can reduce if not eliminate your snoring.

One version of these pillows is foam and has a lowered center portion with a raised edge along the bottom of the pillow which keeps the jaw forward and the chin raised away from the chest. Both of these adjustments helps keep the airway as open as possible, reducing the vibrations of the throat tissues and the resulting noise. This form of anti-snore pillow promotes proper spine alignment for both back and side sleepers.

Other forms of anti-snore pillows have an adjustable air bladder in the center. The sides are a firmer material. The idea is to encourage the individual to sleep on their side, which tends to reduce instances of snoring dramatically, if not completely. The air bladder can be adjusted to find the right firmness for the individual user. Finding the right level of firmness of the center air panel can align the head, neck, and spine while also encouraging a side sleeping position.

Another form of anti-snore pillow also promotes proper spine alignment, but not by properly positioning the head and neck. This pillow is designed specifically for side sleepers. Even though you are more likely to snore less when sleeping on your side, it is still possible. Angled to fit between the thighs, this pillow encourages proper alignment of the spine by positioning the legs correctly.

There are several different options when it comes to finding an anti-snore pillow that will work for you.
