 has joined the company as president and chief executive officer.

Maida has extensive experience leading companies in the clinical development of oncology products, and in the last 12 months has raised over $36 million dollars for biotechnology companies.

Prior to joining RTI, Maida served as chairman, chief executive officer, founder and director of BioConsul Drug Development Corp. of Danville, whose mission is to acquire, develop and ultimately divest promising biotechnology and pharmaceutical products and/or early stage companies through a proven business strategy known as Leveraged Venture Resource Management(c). During this period, Maida was responsible for securing financing and served as acting president of CancerVax Corp., a Carlsbad, Calif. company focused on the research, development and commercialization of immunotherapeutic products for the treatment of cancer. Maida also served as CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  during the organizational phase of Trellis 1. From 1990 to 1992, Maida provided leadership to two biotechnology companies: CellPath Inc., where he was president and chief executive officer' and Prototek Inc., where he was vice president/chief financial officer.

Maida received a BA in history from the University of Santa Clara in 1975, a BA in biology from San Jose State University in 1977, an MS in toxicology from San Jose State University in 1986, and a MBA from Santa Clara University in 1978.
