Anthony Conway to lead Alliance of Nonprofit Mailers.


Anthony W. Conway was appointed the new executive director of The Alliance of Nonprofit Mailers in Washington, D.C. A 34-year veteran of the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  Postal Service postal service, arrangements made by a government for the transmission of letters, packages, and periodicals, and for related services. He most recently served as manager of government relations, directing the legislative and public policy relations with major mailers, trade associations, postal unions and management associations.

Conway's USPS career includes assignments in the Postal Inspection Service, operations, and media relations. The majority of his experience is in government relations. He has managed relations with the USPS's oversight committees and the appropriations subcommittees in the House of Representatives and United States Senate. Conway was actively involved in drafting the 2000 legislation that allows the preferred rate discounts for nonprofit mailers.

Alliance President of the Board of Directors, Steve Smith of the Christian Science Publishing Society The Christian Science Publishing Society (CSPS) was established in 1898 by Mary Baker Eddy and is the publishing arm of The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, Massachusetts. , said in a written statement, "With postal reform legislation poised to become law before the end of the year, the Alliance is fortunate to have Tony's legislative and leadership skills at a time of great change in the postal arena."
