, formerly of Beaumont South Australia South Australia, state (1991 pop. 1,236,623), 380,070 sq mi (984,381 sq km), S central Australia. It is bounded on the S by the Indian Ocean. Kangaroo Island and many smaller islands off the south coast are included in the state. , on 16 January 2004 aged 58 years.

Tony did much to improve the standing and activities of the SA Branch whilst at the helm, being instrumental in introducing many fine speakers while encouraging all with his enthusiasm and deep interest in military history. His principal field of study was the South African War South African War or Boer War, 1899–1902, war of the South African Republic (Transvaal) and the Orange Free State against Great Britain. , its men and their medals; his knowledge of the conflict was considerable and he was able to translate this well as a guest speaker to many other organisations and societies. Together with his wife Connie their generous hospitality was legend, hosting the Branch's annual social evening on several occasions.

He remained a member of the South Australian Branch until his death, despite his retirement and their subsequent move to Queensland Queensland, state (1991 pop. 2,477,152), 667,000 sq mi (1,727,200 sq km), NE Australia. Brisbane is the capital; other important cities are Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Townsville, Rockhampton, Cairns, and Ipswich. . Although distant from his many friends and colleagues in South Australia, he will long be remembered as a fine Branch President and a true gentleman. Our sincere condolences to Connie and family.
