(TSE: ANT) announces that it has acquired 415 Yonge Street, a 185,000 sq. ft., 19 storey, office building near the corner of Yonge and College Streets in downtown Toronto Downtown Toronto is the heart of the City of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is approximately bounded by Bloor Street (including areas slightly north of Bloor around Yonge Street) to the north, Lake Ontario to the south, Bayview Avenue - Don Valley Parkway to the east, and Bathurst . The purchase price of $9.2 million is equivalent to $50 per square foot, less than one-third of the property's replacement cost. The acquisition was financed by the assumption of an existing $4.0 million mortgage and from proceeds of Anthem's recent initial public offering. The property is currently 55 percent leased and Anthem plans to lease it up over the next 18 months.
