Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Directs $10,000 `Hero in Health' Award to Health Access Washoe County.

In 2002 alone, the HAWC Medical Clinic provided over 42,000 patient visits to the uninsured and underserved in Washoe County.

"When we evaluated HAWC's nomination, there was no question that this organization exemplifies everything Hero in Health is about."

HAWC was informed of their selection as the 2005 "Hero in Health" Award winner during the nationally conducted Cover the Uninsured Week.
