Antex Electronics Introduces New Model BX-44 to Broadcaster Series of Digital Audio Cards.

GARDENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 14, 1999--

PC-Compatible Audio Adapter Offers Advanced New

Features for Multimedia and Broadcast Professionals

Antex Electronics, a leading manufacturer of high-end digital audio sound cards for studio-quality PC-based recording and playback, today announced the Broadcaster(TM) BX-44 Adapter, a new digital audio solution offering a host of new features and benefits to those working in broadcast automation, video post production and other multimedia environments.

The BX-44 builds on Antex's popular Broadcaster(TM) series of digital audio adapters, which includes the widely used Broadcaster(TM) BX-12, considered by many an industry standard. The BX-44 is a new companion model to the BX-12 and features multi-track analog and digital inputs and outputs, MPEG (Moving Pictures Experts Group) An ISO/ITU standard for compressing digital video. Pronounced "em-peg," it is the universal standard for digital terrestrial, cable and satellite TV, DVDs and digital video recorders (DVRs).  Layer I/II decoding and SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, White Plains, NY, www.smpte.org) A professional society for motion picture and TV engineers with more than 9,000 members worldwide.  and D/A converters, four analog channels for both record and playback with MPEG Layer I/II compression, the Model BX-44 is clearly one of the most sophisticated and feature-rich sound cards on the market -- transforming an off-the-shelf Windows PC into a powerful multimedia engine. In addition to AES/EBU-S/PDIF stereo digital record/play capability, the BX-44 offers full video synchronization via an on-board hardware genlock feature and SMPTE read/write generator.

Target Markets & Applications

The BX-44 is designed for both digital broadcasting systems engaged in radio, satellite and other broadcast automation applications, and for multimedia automation systems in the burgeoning high technology entertainment industry.

"There is a pronounced need for advanced digital audio solutions that truly allow creative professionals to take their work to the next level, and those engaged in broadcast automation on a daily basis never lose sight of sound," said Jim Antrim, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization.
