today announced new Gigabit modules for its popular Port Authority/GT and Port Authority/Manufacturing products to deliver an affordable and flexible Gigabit-speed network testing solution.

With these new modules, Antara offers the highest port density in a single chassis of any product available today. Antara's Port Authority/Manufacturing products, designed for testing in manufacturing and quality assurance environments, now offer up to 104 10/100 UTP UTP (uridine triphosphate): see uracil.

Port Authority/GT, the company's portable solution for general equipment test and data traffic generation, now delivers up to 40 10/100 UTP or 10 Gigabit ports (modules can also be mixed for maximum flexibility). Antara has standardized these products on the industry-standard CompactPCI chassis to make it simple for customers to purchase and configure a system that meets their specific needs, whether for manufacturing test or for general purpose testing in the enterprise. The company also announced that it has lowered its prices on several existing media modules by up to 40 percent, making it affordable for companies to access high-end networking test equipment.

"We are committed to delivering the most robust, flexible and cost effective testing products to meet market demand," said Chuck Kolstad, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "The introduction of our Gigabit media modules, coupled with our new price structure, provide superior solutions at dramatically lower prices than other products available today."

"Antara's products provide us with a plug-and-play solution that creates real-world, high-capacity traffic patterns and conditions to stress network devices," said Ralph Decker, lab manager at KeyLabs Inc., the industry's leading, independent network and applications test lab. "The new high-speed modules give us the flexibility to populate To plug in chips or components into a printed circuit board. The lower prices make Antara's solution very attractive."

About Antara Port Authority Products

Antara is the first company to address network testing with a broad array of products that provide device testing from the manufacturing floor to monitoring real world enterprise networks. All Antara products include GT-VIEW, a powerful Java-based test tool. With just a few mouse clicks, users create complex and repeatable test environments that stress network devices and networks from a real-world perspective. Each port on Antara's media modules contains a virtual four-node LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. The "clients" are the user's workstations typically running Windows, although Mac and Linux clients are also used.  and hub, which creates real-world traffic conditions at full line rate.

About Antara, LLC

Based in the heart of Silicon Valley, Antara LLC was founded in July 1998 by networking industry visionary Vinod Bhardwaj to address network reliability issues through better product testing solutions. Bhardwaj invented Ethernet switching and previously founded Kalpana (now part of Cisco). Antara designs, manufactures and markets a comprehensive, intelligent networking device testing and monitoring solutions. The company offers an easy and cost-effective means of deploying performance, functional and standards-based conformance testing from a single platform using a powerful ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) Pronounced "a-sick."
