Answer is the first vendor to receive the award for "best new service tool," a new category created to reward unparalleled creativity and innovation in the service industry. This is the fifth year that Service News, the leading newspaper for the service and support industry, has sponsored the Innovations in Service Awards. The Harold H. Short Jr. Innovations In Service Awards

The Harold H. Short Jr. Innovations in Service Awards were created in 1990 to recognize tools and services that have made a far-reaching and positive effect on service delivery and the perception of the service industry. All entries are judged on the following criteria: design innovation, ability to improve service delivery and industry impact. Judges for these awards are the editorial advisors of the Service News publication which include service professionals from corporations, universities and research firms. Other award contenders included many of the leading hardware, software and service providers in the computing computing - computer  industry. The awards are named in memory of Harold H. Short Jr., the founder and former publisher of Service News.
