Ansoft Q4 income up 75% YOY.


PITTSBURGH Pittsburgh (pĭts`bərg), city (1990 pop. 369,879), seat of Allegheny co., SW Pa., at the confluence of the Allegheny and the Monongahela rivers, which there form the Ohio River; inc. 1816.  -- Ansoft Ansoft Corporation (Nasdaq: ANST) is an Electronic Design Automation (EDA) vendor. The company was founded in 1984 and is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States.  Corp. posted a net income of $8.3 million for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2006, a 75% increase over the previous fourth quarter's $4.7 million net income. Revenue for the fourth quarter totaled $24.7 million, an increase of 14% compared to $21.7 million reported in the previous fiscal year's fourth quarter.

Revenue for the fiscal year totaled $77.2 million, compared to $67.7 million reported in the previous fiscal year. Net income for the fiscal year was $17.8 million, representing an 89% increase when compared to net income of $9.4 million in the previous fiscal year.

On March 7, Ansoft declared a two-for-one stock split in the form of a stock dividend, which was distributed on May 9.
