Ansoft Corp. Expands European Presence; Sherry Hess Appointed Director of European Operations.

PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 28, 1996--Ansoft Corp., a world leader in electromagnetic simulation, proudly announces the establishment of its European sales office and an increased, dedicated support office.

Based in London, the office will support all of Europe with a goal of establishing additional sales and support sites in Europe, specifically in Germany and France in the initial expansion phase.

Throughout its 11-year history, Ansoft has sold Maxwell products to European customers through third party distributors. To further enhance customer support and service, Ansoft realizes that a direct presence in Europe is essential.

"Issues concerning EMC and signal integrity are vitally important to our European customers and therefore important to Ansoft. A direct presence in Europe will allow Ansoft to offer premier sales and support to our current and future customers to ensure their continued success in the design arena," said Nick Csendes, president of Ansoft.

Sherry Hess has been appointed director of European Operations, reporting to Csendes. Her responsibilities include: establishing sales offices in Europe, developing and managing the existing sales and support staff, and expanding Ansoft business opportunities.

Hess joined Ansoft in 1990 and formerly served as Ansoft's Corporate Account Executive responsible for such major accounts as Motorola, GM, IBM and Intel before directly managing European sales and support. Prior to joining Ansoft, she was an Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) Engineer at Intel. Hess holds a BSEE and an MBA, both from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, USA.

Hess is also Ansoft's European contact with Analogy Inc. In Europe, Analogy resells Ansoft products alongside their Saber simulator. This agreement with Analogy allows for the distribution of Ansoft's Maxwell product family and strengthens Ansoft's European sales efforts. Customers are able to obtain from a single source, integrated tools from both Ansoft and Analogy.

Ansoft Corp., a leading supplier of electromagnetic field simulation design tools, directly markets its products worldwide with a sales force and a network of distributors. Customers include leading electronics, telecommunications and automotive companies such as Robert Bosch, Intel, ABB, Samsung, Siemens, Motorola, Ericsson, SGS Thompson, GM, Ford and BMW. In addition to the United Kingdom office, Ansoft operates direct sales offices in Japan and throughout the United States. -0- Ansoft European Sales: PO Box 9106 London UK SW14 7ZA TEL/FAX: 44-181-392-1004 Email: europe@ansoft.com
