Anritsu Company introduces the MD1230A-04 decode module that integrates Network Associates' (NYSE: NET) award-winning Sniffer(R) technology into Anritsu's MD1230A Ethernet/POS Test System, greatly enhancing the protocol decode capability of the Test System.

The MD1230A supports a wide range of test ports from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps Ethernet and SONET/SDH. With the new module, the MD1230A clearly presents the technical contents of more than 400 complex networking protocols in an easily understandable format that makes it easier for network engineers and administrators to quickly and more accurately identify and resolve network problems and performance inconsistencies.

Because the decode module supports the latest protocol technologies, including 10 Gb Ethernet, MPLS, IPv6, MPEG video, and Voice over IP (VoIP), the MD1230A is an optimal test solution for the most advanced network designs. Engineers and administrators can use the MD1230A with the decode module to generate and capture wire-speed traffic on all MD1230A ports simultaneously and then decode on all seven layers of the Open System Interconnection (OSI) reference model.
