Another hero in Illinois.


On March 2, 2005, Anthony Blaskoski of Kane County, Illinois Kane County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois. As of 2000, the population was 404,119. As of 2005, the population is estimated at 482,113. Its county seat is Geneva, Illinois6, and its largest city is Aurora. , saw flames coming from his neighbors' house and rushed over. With no concern for his own safety, Blaskoski prepared to run inside the burning, smoke-filled home of William and Kim Gunderson. Mrs. Gunderson arrived at the home at just about the same time as Blaskoski, and told the eager rescuer that her husband and five-year-old daughter, Emma, were still inside the burning house.

Blaskoski charged into the inferno, searching for the father and daughter. He became overcome by the smoke and ran outside to catch a breath, then dashed back in. He reentered the house twice more before rescuing and managing to revive To renew.

Blaskoski entered the house once again, this time in an attempt to save little Emma. Unfortunately, he was not successful and the girl perished.
