EVERYONE wants to support the Sir Bobby Robson Sir Robert William Robson CBE (born 18 February 1933, in Sacriston, County Durham, England), commonly known as Bobby Robson (IPA: /ˈbɒbi ˈrɒbsən/  Foundation appeal to raise money for the neverending fight against cancer. It's the wonderful legacy left by a selfless man, and tomorrow afternoon at 2pm a soccer match arranged at West Auckland will donate half its gate money to the Foundation.

West are currently celebrating the 100th anniversary of them winning the Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy The Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy was a football (soccer) competition that took place twice, in Turin, Italy, in 1909 and 1911. It is sometimes referred to as The First World Cup. , effectively the first ever World Cup.

Juventus were their famed opponents, you may recall, and a match took place not so long ago in Turin, though Juve hardly came over as gracious hosts off the pitch.

There ought to have been a return, a second leg, but for reasons best known to the mighty Italians it hasn't materialised, and so West's general manager Stuart Alderson, once a junior Magpie magpie, common name for certain birds of the family Corvidae (crows and jays). The black-billed magpie, Pica pica, of W North America has iridescent black plumage, white wing patches and abdomen, and a long wedge-shaped tail. It is altogether about 20 in. , has pulled together a celebrity side with the help of SuperMac and they will provide tomorrow's opposition.

If you get the chance pop along and support both West and Sir Bobby, two worthy causes.
