Another Millstone Award.
Calgary--C.I. has awarded another Millstone millstone
Either of two flat, round stones used for grinding grain to make flour. The stationary bottom stone is carved with shallow grooved channels that radiate from the centre. The upper stone rotates horizontally, and has a central hole through which grain is poured. Award, this time to Father Emanuel Buttigieg, of Calgary diocese. The National Post (Feb. 26,2001) stated that he is a Catholic theologian and that he said that abortion "is not so serious as murder."
Pope John Paul Pope John Paul is the name of two Popes of the Roman Catholic Church: - Pope John Paul I (1978), who named himself in honor of his predecessors, Pope John XXIII and Pope Paul VI. Reigned for only 34 calendar days
- Pope John Paul II (1978–2005), the only Polish Pope.
, however, in his encyclical encyclical, originally, a pastoral letter sent out by a bishop, now a solemn papal letter, meant to inform the whole church on some particular matter of importance. Benedict XIV circulated the first known encyclical in 1740. Evangelium vitae Evangelium Vitæ (Latin: "The Gospel of Life") is the name of the encyclical written by Pope John Paul II which expresses the position of the Catholic Church regarding the value and inviolability of human life. It was promulgated on March 25, 1995. (The Gospel of Life), following a long line of Church Fathers going back to St. Basil in the fourth century, states that abortion is murder (#57).
We hope that Bishop Henry of Calgary will administer the award.
