Annual SIPA meeting, June 3-5, to focus on "The New Rules".


The Specialized Information Publishers Association's 31st Annual International Newsletter & Specialized-Information Conference, titled "The New Rules ...," will be held at The Mayflower Hotel
This article is about the hotel in Washington, DC. There are other historic hotels by the name of Mayflower, including the Mayflower Hotel on the Park in New York City (closed and demolished in 2004), the Mayflower Hotel in Beirut, and the Mayflower Park Hotel in Seattle.

Last year's meeting drew 560 newsletter and specialized-information publishers, editors, marketers, reporters, and vendors. This year's event will feature more than 135 speakers from both inside and outside the industry; 40 concurrent breakout sessions in eight specialized tracks; 56 roundtable discussions; and 2 add-on workshops, Usability Testing Usability testing is a means for measuring how well people can use some human-made object (such as a web page, a computer interface, a document, or a device) for its intended purpose, i.e. usability testing measures the usability of the object.  for Publishers--The Art and Science of Creating User-Friendly Media Websites, and Specialized Publishing Bootcamp: Everything You Need to Know in a Cost-Effective, One-Day Package.

The general session and keynote speakers are:

* Lou Adler Lou Adler (born December 13, 1933) is an American record producer, manager, and director.

Born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in East Los Angeles, Adler grew up in a mixed Jewish/Mexican family. In 1964, Adler founded and co-owned Dunhill Records.

Conference fees

SIPA Silicon Valley Indian Professionals Association
SIPA Specialized Information Publishers Association (formerly Newsletter & Electronic Publishers Association) 
 members are $945 for the 1st delegate from a company, $745 each for the 2nd and 3rd delegates; and $645 for the 4th delegate or more. Knock $100 off those fees if registering before May 1.

Non-members pay $1,145 for each delegate, $995 if paid before May 1.

The add-on sessions are $195 each for SIPA members, $295 for non-members.
