SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Trango Broadband Wireless, an industry leader in fixed-wireless broadband connectivity solutions, announced today at the ISPCON show in Santa Clara, CA, a new addition to the TrangoFOX Series(TM) of subscriber units, the FOX5800-D2, selling at less than $299 in quantity. Trango is taking the industry lead with the FOX5800-D2 by driving down the cost of ownership for internet service providers that want to dramatically expand their subscriber base and maximize their ROI. The 5.8 GHz FOX5800-D2 delivers 10 Mbps at up to 13 miles with a 13 dB fade margin when mounted with the AD5800-25 dish antenna, or up to 4 miles with a 7 dB fade margin when installed stand-alone. The FOX5800-D2 integrates Automatic Retransmit ReQuest (ARQ) functionality for robust link performance in noisy environments and this feature can be used with any Access5830 Series Access Point that is upgraded with free ARQ firmware provided by Trango. The FOX5800-D2 includes all of the features standard with TrangoFOX Series subscriber units including Trango's dual-polarized antenna technology, Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), built-in LED alignment tool and full remote configuration and management.
