IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 2, 1998--The ECom/EDI Company has partnered with OpenPath Software Inc. in the development of Paragon-Net, the newest in electronic-data-interchange (EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) The electronic communication of business transactions, such as orders, confirmations and invoices, between organizations. Paragon-Net is a secure Internet-based EDI system that instantly synchronizes documents between multiple trading partners, allowing companies to provide Web-based access to business documents; connecting internal departments, external sites, suppliers and trading partners; and will begin shipping by the end of September 1998.

Paragon-Net will take advantage of the growing trend in Internet-based EDI by using the Paragon EDI database and database-mapping technology for the translation and storage of EDI data. Paragon-Net will be demonstrated at e-Business World in Boston, booth No. 2199.

The partnership will leverage OpenPath Software's strengths in electronic commerce and data exchange in addition to its sales channels in Asia.
