Easy-to-Use Network Backup

Remote Pack for Windows 95/NT allows any computer running Retrospect to back up a PC over the network. Once a Remote is installed on a Windows computer, that computer can be protected regularly, reliably, and automatically.

New Features in Version 1.1

Remote Pack for Windows 95/NT 1.1 supports file names of up to 254 characters. It also simplifies Windows NT registry The configuration database in all 32-bit versions of Windows that contains settings for the hardware and software in the PC it is installed in. The Registry is made up of the SYSTEM.DAT and USER.DAT files. Many settings previously stored in the WIN.INI and SYSTEM.  backup.

The Remote Pack automatically makes a copy of the Windows NT registry so that Retrospect can back it up along with the rest of the hard disk contents across the network. If a registry becomes corrupt or damaged, the backup registry can easily be restored. If the hard disk crashes, the entire disk can be completely restored, including the registry. Version 1.1 also has full support for backup and restore of the Windows 95 registry.

Pricing and Availability

Remote Packs for Windows 95/NT are now available in increments of five, ten, or fifty user licenses. Remote Packs for Macintosh computers are also available in increments of five, ten, or fifty users.

Five user Remote Packs are available for under $169. Ten user Remote Packs are available for under $249. Fifty user Remote Packs are available for under $1095.

Retrospect and Remote Packs

Retrospect and Remote Packs together provide an excellent backup solution that saves time and money while increasing backup reliability.

Any administrator can back up the computers on the network to a single storage device using Retrospect on the backup computer plus one or more Remote Packs for the other computers on the network. This eliminates the need for separate storage devices for each person on the network.
