NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 6, 1996--Template Graphics Software (TGS) Tuesday announced and demonstrated 3Space(TM) Publisher, a powerful 3D page design and authoring application that makes it easy to create stunning visuals using intuitive creation tools and a large collection of 3D clip art.

3Space Publisher is also the only 3D tool that allows visuals to be published as many output types, such as VRML, 3D ActiveX(TM), photo-realistic images and animated GIF and video.

3Space Publisher provides easy-to-use tools for creating objects ranging from 3D buttons and bullets to complex 3D scenes. Unlike the tools designed for highly skilled 3D artists, objects created with 3Space Publisher have default colors, textures and lighting, all of which can be changed with a click of a mouse. In addition, 3Space Publisher has a vast library of drag-and-drop 3D clip art, including cars, boats, furniture and people as well as a variety of geometric shapes.

3Space Publisher also has built-in protocols which allow users to download and manipulate 3D objects from the Web.

Once an image or scene has been created, 3Space Publisher gives users the ability to publish it as a variety of output types. For example, a user may create a photo-realistic image for a document, publish a VRML page on the Web, and add a product animation to a CD-ROM title -- all from the same set of scenes.

According to Terry Baker, president of TGS, 3Space Publisher is a powerful tool for anyone needing to create striking 3D graphics. Features of 3Space Publisher include:

-- A radiosity tool that creates physically realistic lighting by reproducing shadowing and light reflection from objects in the scene.

-- Five movable lighting types, including headlights, distant lights, point lights, spot lights, and ambient light.

-- Cameras with various focal lengths, ranging from a powerful telephoto lens to a wide-angled "fish eye" lens. These cameras can be positioned anywhere in the scene.

-- Special effects such as colored backdrops, actual image backdrops or gray fog.

-- Animation and video generation.

3Space Publisher will be available in the fourth quarter of 1996 for $295.
