Announcements.Andrew Barnett is retiring after 22 years as a professor and eight years as director of the San Diego State University School of Accountancy. Barnett began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Arthur Andersen. He has served on the AICPA's national CPE faculty and in 1988, he was recognized as the AICPA's outstanding discussion leader. He served for four years on the AICPA Accounting Board Review Services Committee and for seven years on the AICPA Board of Examiners. Barnett is also a past president of the San Diego Chapter and past chair of the Accounting Education Committee ... Longtime FTB Executive Officer Gerald H. Goldberg will retire Aug. 31. Goldberg has been the FTB's executive officer since September 1980, and under his direction, FTB revenue collection has climbed from $9.5 billion in 1980 to $48.6 billion in 2001 ... Los Angeles-based Mark E. Hayden has joined Deloitte & Touche LLP as partner in its Forensic & Dispute Services practice ... Walnut Creek-based Paul T. Kangail has joined Rothstein Kass as a tax principal ... Vernon Moore has been hired as a senior audit manager and Rosanne Kral has been hired as a tax manager for Santa Monica-based Stonefield Josephson ...
