Annika Sorenstam Joins Golf Digest and Golf for Women as Exclusive Playing Editor.

NEW YORK -- Annika Sorenstam, the No. 1 woman golfer in the world, has signed a long-term agreement with Golf Digest and Golf For Women magazines to serve as an exclusive Playing Editor. The announcement was made today by Jerry Tarde, Chairman and Editorial Director of Golf Digest Publications, a division of Conde Nast Publications.

Through the agreement, Sorenstam will contribute bylined instruction and feature articles exclusively for Golf Digest and Golf For Women.

"I'm very excited to be joining Golf Digest and Golf For Women," said Sorenstam. "I've always tried to be the best at what I do, so I'm proud to be partnering with the best magazines in the game."

Golf Digest's and Golf For Women's other Playing Editors from the PGA, LPGA and Champions Tours include Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson, David Toms, Amy Alcott, Tom Watson, Justin Leonard, Jane Crafter, Liselotte Neumann, Nick Price and Wendy Ward.

Since joining the LPGA Tour in 1994, Sorenstam has won 66 times, including nine major championships. She has led the tour in earnings in eight seasons, has won the Vare Trophy for low scoring average six times and has been named Rolex Player of the Year eight times. Her career highlights include shooting a 13-under-par 59 in the 2001 Standard Register PING, the first sub-60 round in LPGA history, and being the first woman since 1945 to compete in a PGA Tour event, at the 2003 Bank of America Colonial. In 2003 she was inducted into the LPGA and World Golf Halls of Fame.
