Anne Klein to open store. (Retail New York).


Anne Klein Anne Klein (August 3, 1923 - March 19, 1974) was an American fashion designer whose label was continued by designer Donna Karan after Anne Klein's death.

Anne Klein was born as Hannah Golofski in New York City on August 3, 1923.

"Following Sept. 11, retailers in SoHo really suffered," said LaPierre, "largely due to the sudden fall-off in tourist trade to the neighborhood. So we were delighted when Anne Klein, which began negotiations on 417 West Broadway prior to the World Trade Center attacks, had the vision to see the resiliency and merit of the area and still wanted to close."

"If you want to grow, you have to commit," commented Pornerantz, who explained that Anne Klein is bullish on SoHo and firmly believes that it will soon revive as one of the City's most vibrant and trendy retail destinations.

Anne Klein is currently building out the space, which it plans to occupy in spring 2002. The asking rent for the space was approximately $300 per SF. Other retailers in close proximity to the new Anne Klein store include Emporio Armani, Dolce dol·ce   Music
