NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 1999--

CDKnet and Central Park Media to Offer Customized Anime CDs

CDKnet, a leading provider of audio, video and Internet convergence technologies, and Central Park Media (CPM), the largest distributor of Japanese animation (anime) in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. , announced today that the two companies have partnered to offer a revolutionary Web business in the world of entertainment. For the first time ever, animation fans will be able to create their own custom CDs containing the latest anime video releases as well as still photos and audio soundtracks.

The CDKnet/CPM deal represents the first commercial use of CDKnet's new MixFactory(TM) technology that enables consumers to choose individual video selections directly from the Web for delivery on a CD. The new service, available this summer, will be available through CPM's Web site (www.centralparkmedia.com), the most comprehensive Web site for Japanese animation. Through its Japanimation Station, CPM is also the exclusive provider of anime related content on America Online See AOL.  (AOL (A division of Time Warner, Inc., New York, NY, www.aol.com) The world's largest online information service with access to the Internet, e-mail, chat rooms and a variety of databases and services. ). Anime is currently a $100 million annual business in the United States.

The past decade has shown growing interest in anime, a form of animation that combines sophisticated story lines and detailed, engaging graphics. Anime stories run the gamut from comedy and action/adventure to science fiction and mystery. Visitors to CPM's Web site will be able to create their own custom anime CD and have it delivered the next business day, enabling them to enjoy full-screen video and seamless linking to related Web sites, directly from the CD.
