Animal laws are relaxed.


ANIMAL lovers with a penchant for exotic pets could now cuddle up to sloths, racoons or even an emu after the Government relaxed regulations on owning wild animals.

A total of 33 new species can now be owned without a licence after a review of the Dangerous Wild Animals dangerous wild animals

animals that may be specified by local legislation as requiring a license if they are to be kept by a private person and outside circuses or zoos, which are legislated for separately.
 Act deemed them not to be a risk to the public.

They include a number of wild cat species, North American and crested porcupines, hyraxes, sand snakes, mangrove mangrove, large tropical evergreen tree, genus Rhizophora, that grows on muddy tidal flats and along protected ocean shorelines. Mangroves are most abundant in tropical Asia, Africa, and the islands of the SW Pacific.  snakes and the Brazilian wolf spider.
