Animal law newsletter is available.

The Florida Bar's Animal Law Committee released its Spring 2009 newsletter recently, featuring articles on damages in companion animal cases, changes to Miami-Dade's animal ordinances, prosecution of an endangered species killing under state and federal law, and Florida's Dangerous Dog Statute.

Electronic copies of the newsletter are available on committee's Web page at www. floridabar.org or can be obtained by e-mailing Gregg Morton at greggrileymorton@gmail. com.

The committee also will hold its fifth annual seminar in Orlando on June 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., as part of the Bar's Annual Convention. This year's seminar is "Everyday Issues in Animal Law for the Lawyer and the Layperson" and features Amanda Simmons on Equine Law; Cala Oglo on Penalties for Fish & Wildlife Violations in Florida; Jennifer Dietz on Florida's Dangerous Dog Statute; and Mindy Lasley on The Connection Between Domestic Violence and Animal Cruelty.

Those interested in attending the seminar should indicate their preference on the registration form for the Annual Convention. The committee's annual meeting of members will follow the seminar from 1 to 3 p.m. Guests are welcome.
