Animal hunt at museum.

EAGLE EYED young visitors to the Green Howards Regimental Museum The Green Howards Regimental Museum is the museum of the The Green Howards infantry regiment of the British Army. It is located in the old Trinity Church in the centre of the market place of Richmond in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire, England.  in Richmond can track down all sorts of animals with the help of a special safari quiz.

Among the beasts they can meet are a two-foot-long silver tiger that lives in the museum's Normanby Room and the head of a ram mounted with semi-precious stones that is on display amid the regimental silver.

There are also mice carved on some of the furniture, lions on the medals, rats in the First World War displays and even a coat made of otter skin! There aren't any prizes for the quiz, but all the children who do it have a great time "ferreting" out the answers, with a little help from parents and museum staff, organisers say.

Children are admitted free to the museum with an adult - adult admission is pounds 3.50, reduced to pounds 3 for concessions.

Lynda Powell, museum director, said: "Chasing the animals around the museum is always great fun for youngsters, who also get to learn quite a bit about the Regiment's history as they do so."
