The prison van carrying mum-of-two Vanessa George was pelted with bottles and flour then chased down the road by people hammering on the side and screaming abuse. George, who worked at Little Ted's nursery in Plymouth for up to three years, is accused of assaulting a girl aged one and a boy and girl listed as infants, as well as taking and distributing child porn. Her husband Andrew last night spoke of his shock over the charges. In a statement he said: "We remain strong as a family. To become less; decrease. the impact these events have on our children." George, of Plymouth, was remanded in custody by magistrates in the city and is due back in court in September.
