Africa s massive land mass and rich feedstocks have attracted the attention of Brazilian industrial giant Odebrecht Odebrecht is a Brazilian business conglomerate in the fields of Engineering & Construction and Chemicals & Petrochemicals. The company was founded in 1944 and the group is present in South America, Central America and the Caribbean, North America, Africa, Europe and the Middle East. .

The company is planning to inject in·ject

The Brazilian company has set up a joint venture, Biocom, with the Angolan state-owned oil firm Sonangol and private company Damer.

The company intends to farm sugarcane on 30,000 hectares of land in Malange province, some 400 km east of the capital Luanda. A processing plant for sugar and ethanol production will also be set up, and is expected to have an annual processing capacity of 260,000 tonnes of sugar.
