Anglo Swiss Resources: Blu Starr Gemstone Property Update.Business Editors VANCOUVER, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 19, 2000 Anglo Swiss Resources Inc. (ME:ASW ASW Antisubmarine Warfare ASW Approved Social Worker ASW Application Software ASW a Small World (online community) ASW Art Supply Warehouse ASW Artificial Sea Water ASW Australian Standard White (wheat) .)(OTCBB OTCBB See OTC Bulletin Board (OTCBB). :ASWRF) and Hampton Court Resources are pleased to provide an update on Phase 1 of the evaluation of the Blu Starr Gemstone gemstone Any of various minerals prized for beauty, durability, and rarity. A few noncrystalline materials of organic origin (e.g., pearl, red coral, and amber) also are classified as gemstones. Property in British Columbia British Columbia, province (2001 pop. 3,907,738), 366,255 sq mi (948,600 sq km), including 6,976 sq mi (18,068 sq km) of water surface, W Canada. Geography . Background Hampton Court entered into a Joint Venture with Anglo Swiss Resources in March, 2000 to evaluate and develop Anglo's Blu Starr Gemstone deposit. The terms of the Joint Venture call for a work spending commitment over a three year period with the first phase consisting of a minimum of $250,000 to be spent by March 6, 2001. Hampton assembled two field teams in July 2000 to commence the initial independent evaluation of both the hardrock and alluvial al·lu·vi·al adj. Of, relating to, or found in alluvium: alluvial soil; alluvial gold. alluvial Adjective of or relating to alluvium Noun gemstone deposits on the Joint Venture lands. Hardrock Gemstone Deposits Hampton's independent evaluation team confirmed the findings of the exploration work previously undertaken by Anglo Swiss between 1996 - 1999 which indicated the presence of gem-quality iolite, garnet garnet, name applied to a group of isomorphic minerals crystallizing in the cubic system. They are used chiefly as gems and as abrasives (as in garnet paper). and star sapphire star sapphire n. A sapphire with a polished convex surface exhibiting asterism. Noun 1. star sapphire - a sapphire that when cut shows a starlike figure in reflected light because of its crystalline structure . In addition to Anglo's findings, the evaluation team has documented several new iolite, garnet and sapphire outcrops. The new outcrops were discovered during the current field season while detailed prospecting, geologic mapping and geophysical survey Geophysical survey refers to the systematic collection of geophysical data for spatial studies. Geophysical surveys may use a great variety of sensing instruments, and data may be collected from above or below the Earth's surface or from aerial or marine platforms. work was being conducted on controlled grids. The new sapphire and iolite outcrops have expanded the breadth of the known gemstone occurrences and the new garnet showings outcrop in a previously unexplored area. Testing of the gem potential of the hardrock deposits is ongoing and will continue through November 2000. The Company has applied for bulk sampling permits from the Ministry of Mines in order to remove extensive amounts of ore material for further evaluation. Once the bulk samples have been removed, the material will be processed and the gem rough separated and sent for professional faceting or heat-treating. All of the data compiled during the current field season will be presented to Hampton in an independent report. The results will be press released after Hampton has reviewed the report and consulted with Anglo and the regulatory bodies. Alluvial Gemstone Deposits Preliminary testing of the gem potential of the alluvial (gravel) deposits of the Slocan Valley The Slocan Valley is a valley in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada. The valley is home to the village of Slocan City, New Denver, Kaslo, Nakusp, Silverton, Winlaw and the Valhalla Provincial Park. was initiated this season. An independent team conducted near surface mapping and sampling of the gravels to identify the presence of sapphire, iolite and garnet. Geophysical profiles of the Slocan Valley were run utilizing ground penetrating radar. The subsequent reconnaissance lines determined the depth of gravels and the location of bedrock channels underlying the gravels which will assist in selecting bulk sampling sites for next year's work program. Field testing on the alluvial gemstone deposits is complete for the season and an independent report will be issued to the Company once analysis of all field data has been finalized See finalization. . The report results will be press released after the Company has reviewed the report and consulted with its Joint Venture partner and regulatory bodies. Graphite A graphite zone located on the northwestern part of the claims was discovered in 1999. Prospecting and geophysical field data have further extended the zone to the north and west. This graphite zone will be further detailed in the independent report to be submitted by the hardrock evaluation team. Management's Assessment Final results of the bulk sampling program on the hardrock gemstone deposits, including an assessment of the percentage of gem grade quality material therein, will determine the scope of work to be conducted in the future. Hampton Court is very encouraged by preliminary results reported to date by the independent evaluation teams. The discovery of additional sapphire, garnet and iolite outcrops, clearly support the Company's continuation into Phase 2 of the Joint Venture.
