Anglo Irish Bank Acquires and Provides Financing for Prominent $43 Million Boston Retail Property.


BOSTON -- Anglo Irish Bank Anglo Irish Bank Corporation plc (Irish: Banc Angla-Éireannach) ISEQ: ANGL, LSE: ANGL, FWB: CKL, is a bank based in Ireland, listed on both the Irish Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange, and headquartered in Dublin.  has provided financing for the acquisition of a $42,625,000 prominent high-end urban retail asset situated in one of the country's most exclusive shopping and entertainment districts at 201 Newbury Street in Boston. The Bank sourced, acquired and financed the property on behalf of its international private clients.

Originally built in 1875 as a school house, the property was completely restructured and redeveloped in 1986 to accommodate street level retail tenants and residential condominiums. The 24,993 square feet of retail space is more than 91% leased to specialty apparel stores including Gap, American Eagle Outfitters, Betsy Johnson and Adriano Goldschmied.
