GROVE PARK Angling Club secretary Brian Nolan put aside his paper and pen and won the club's Jimmy Moore Memorial match at Partridge Lake with 46lb12oz.
Fishing on the manmade Ribbon Canal, Brian - who lives in Aigburth - caught a net of carp with a 12 metre pole and double caster hookbait.
Neil Lloyd managed 26lb 5oz and Ben Richardson had 20lb 1oz.
Southport's Bannister Farm is still on form and Rob Kennerley (Ray's Tackle) got his first win on the day-ticket complex with a well taken 52lb 8oz.
Fishing from peg 16 on the match canal, Rob pole-fished at 15 metres with pellet for a mixed net of carp and chub.
