A growing number of conservative Episcopalians who consider the denomination too liberal on issues such as homosexuality and female priests have decided to import their faith instead. That means those bishops can appoint American "missionary" clergy to set up Anglican churches in the United States that would be governed by those in Singapore and Rwanda. Officials have already appointed six "missionary bishops," including the Reverend Charles Murphy There have been a number of notable people named Charles Murphy:
  • Charles Murphy (Canadian politician), Canadian politician who represented Russell in the Canadian House of Commons from 1908 to 1925.
  • Charles Murphy (architect), the Chicago based architect of C.F.
, a former Episcopal priest who was a key force in creating the Anglican Mission in America, based in Pawleys Island, S.C.

There are currently 40 such Anglican churches in the United States, mostly in the South but also in Colorado and as far north as Michigan.
